Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted. Spring is here and I’ve been busier than ever, but I have a particularly meaningful post today that I hope you all enjoy!
I’ve been taking photos for this special family for a year. Kerry makes it look easy wrangling two spirited daughters. Her oldest, Claire, is smart, bold, and endlessly curious. Riley Kate, who just turned 1, has a big personality and has the most adorable eyebrow furrow I’ve ever seen. Watching these girls grow over the past year has been such a privilege and the friendship that I’ve developed with this family is something that I’ll cherish forever.
This session was particularly meaningful as it marked a full year that I have been photographing them. It also symbolizes a year of personal growth for me as an artist. Looking back at my first sessions of Claire and Riley Kate is admittedly a bit hard for me because I hadn’t yet perfected my style and made rookie mistakes. Kerry believed in me though and my development is especially apparent in the work I’ve done for her. I got better with my camera. I began making less mistakes. I learned how to shoot and edit in my style. I got a better camera. I further defined my aesthetic…
I’m constantly growing (not in height— forever 4’11'“) as a small business owner and as an artist. My shooting philosophy has become crystal clear: to give my clients photos that tell their unique story by capturing raw emotions and moments that happen organically. Life is full of beautiful, fleeting moments that I feel honored to be able to photograph.
Thank you to all my clients for trusting me with your precious milestones.
If you have a milestone you’d like for me to capture, I’d love to hear from you.
